Hi I have a rubbing noice coming from rear and garage changed rear discs and brakes as they said they were corroded. After they took it for a test drive the rubbing noice was still there and then they said it was the differential and gave a price of 2800.00. I’ve decided to get a recondition one which is 750.00. Are recondition diffs reliable

Firstly, are you sure it’s the diff? You are going by what the garage tells you - the same one that said it was the brakes first?
I’d be getting a second opinion before committing to a diff.

Recons can be fine, depending on who/where you are getting it from and ‘how’ it’s been recon’d.
