If you are able to remove the top hinge(either bolts on door or bulkhead which ever is easier) then get the door striker in a bit. See if the bottom goes in & the top stops in line. Then this shows you need a shim/adjustment on that hinge...

There's quite a few on the other forums using these new Defenders for serious Overlanding particularly in the USA and Australia. And the steel wheels are really the only choice.
