Thanks. It's my first and only Disco so I don't have much experience. I saw the video from Exmoor and thought it's the default setup.
I'm not very good at sewing, so I was afraid I might mess something up – adding extra foam seemed like a safer option. But actually, removing the stitches...

Thanks a lot, guys! I read your replies too late and had already cut my seat. But I understand that if I had just pulled it with a jack or a pry bar, I would have removed the headrest along with the plastic parts that normally stay inside the seat when you first remove the metal plate? I'm...

First of all, thanks a ton for your responses! You helped me a lot!
Have a look at this screenshot from Exmoor Trim's video:
Looks pretty much the same as in my seat, doesn't it?
I took this advice and did just that. I tested it and the lumbar support does work now. Not sure how it was meant...

Hmm, I don't think I get it 😊 I didn't do anything yet, just took off the fabric to see what's under the foam. I didn't mess with the lumbar support yet. The strap is nicely attached to the flaps but the strap itself is too loose.

Ok, I didn't expect that but I need to cut through the foam. Explained here:

Hi! I've taken my chair apart and I'm looking at how the lumbar support works. The mechanism itself seems fine, but the support is barely noticeable. It feels like the strap isn't pushing out enough because it's not tight enough. Is there a simple, homemade way to fix this?
I've recorded a...

How do I take out the headrest?! No matter how hard I pull, it won't come out. How do I unlock it?

Wow! So most likely mine also had a spur which has been broken off.
What is the purpose of this spur? It's a vent or sth else? How the fact that it's broken off affects my power steering system?
I have some leak but I cannot trace it. The amount of fluid in the reservoir is ok and still I have...

Hi!
Is the hole in the picture a factory vent for the power steering system in a D1, or is it damage to the cap?

Thanks a lot for all the replies; it was exactly the kind of input I was looking for. I'll be speaking with a company that specializes in catalytic converter installation, but I wanted to get some insights from other Land Rover owners first. Following your suggestion, I plan to install a bigger...

I’m not too worried about the emissions. I know it’s an old diesel, and there’s not much I can do about that. I just hate the smell of the exhaust fumes, and I’ve always hated it, even before I adjusted the pump.
True, I don’t notice any difference in the smell after installing the boost pin...

Sorry, I haven't made myself clear enough. I don't smell anything inside the car; I only smell it outside, but I still hate it. I park my Disco in a parking space in my residential area, and children often play next to my parking spot. Whenever I start my Disco or come back from somewhere and...

I have a 1992 Discovery 1 200TDI with a boost pin and boost ring. I love the car, but I really hate the smell of its exhaust fumes. I know it might sound crazy to some of you, but I'm considering installing a universal Euro 4 catalytic converter. Has anyone ever tried this? What could the...

I have a 5D 200TDI but I have seats from a 3D 300 TDI (1994). I was doing a quick fix to the diaphragm in my passenger's seat and I noticed that the seat base (the thing that is mounted to the floor with 4 bolts) is uneven what makes the whole seat tilted to the side.
I don't have access to the...

Hi all! After some fun off-road all my coolant leaked and the engine got some temp. Turned out that one of the heater matrix endings is broken:
Not sure how that happened but anyway - I need a new heater matrix. I tried to find some instructions on the web on how to replace it but no luck...
