No I didn't do that, but you are right, to get a light I used the earth off the door light switch, I'll find the earth for the motor. Thanks

I've just tried a bulb and I get a light on the feed to the motor , and 1 off the 3 connections in the top of the unit, (the middle one). So the conclusion to me is the motor is at fault cos there's power to it . So I'll get a new motor for it and I'll see how we go from there. Better get saving...
