The one we had as kids (so 50s 60s) I used to take my ex around Scotland when we first met. It stayed in my dad's garage until he died ('98) when we gave it to the local scout group who were amazingly grateful.

Storage is an issue, especially if you hardly ever use it.
Mate of mine paid to store his and it got nicked from there, so that would be a worry too, quite apart from the expense.

Something I never thought of before. On Wednesday when me n mates met up at our rally, they had set up their camper vans and me my little tent. So who got volunteered to go for the take-away curries because his Landy was still mobile? ------
I think a stand alone tent is a better idea too.
