Trubble is doing that is far more complex than doing it with electricity, and as we now know they cannot even do that very well, hence huge windfarms being paid to not generate leccy whenever they can.

Should be fun when your (generic?) OBD reader tells you on the autoroute that the torque convertor is not locking up and you are not in top gear. I doubt that you can manually force the selection of top gear, the electronics decide when to shift...
