Why did it require replacing ??
  • pwood999
On my Son's FL1, we had to bypass the HK amplifier under the left seat. I mad a bypass plug to go into the loom, and then the aftermarket stereo feeds the speakers direct. See post #4 in this thread...

+1 on try the tailgate trick. If where you park makes that a bad idea, you could take Fuse 44 out, which has the same effect as removing the relay.

10.2v where? At the battery or at the starter motor?? Either way it seems low to me.

pwood999 replied to the thread P38A Is this the end?.
Yes but any repair workshop could probably weld a replacement in. Cost vs replacement P38 depends what you want. Yours was getting rusty before the accident anyway. If you don't want to repair yours use it as a donor car for a cheap P38.

As I said, add your town name / location to your profile. Might be someone nearby with Nanocom.

Yes locking with FOB does engage superlocking. With the key you need to turn it twice. Might be worth cleaning the volumetric sensors in case there's spiders in there ?? Also check bonnet, tailgate & door switches are all showing closed &...

Generally ignore the diagnostics voltage & measure with the multimeter whether it's battery, fuses, ECU's, etc. If battery & main fuse voltage are still 12V when cranking, then the drop must be somewhere else. What's the voltage on the...

Out of curiousity, I tried disabling the Trip Computer in my GEMS High-Line BECM today. With it set to "Not Fitted" the stalk trip button does nothing. Re-enabled it again & checked it's working. @P38DieselOwner Try fitting the stalk first...

Maybe have a look at this thread & contact @RangeRover3D ?? If you have the part with the wrong hole position, then scan the part & adjust the screw hole position ?

I think you just need to check the label but the fuses. Look for the H or L in lower left corner.

Should be on a label on the BECM ?? Do you have stuff like memory seats or mirrors ? Also as you don't have a location, nobody knows if there's a Nanocom near you !!!

Disconnect battery & check voltage is 12.8V. Then wait overnight & measure again. If it drops to 10V again, then the battery is duff.

Check if you have it in BECM Setting screens.

Standard procedure . . . dump all the particulates in the counrtryside rather than in the towns !! I asusme overall pollution must be similar to a pre-DPF car !!

My son had similar DPF errors on his previous Jag XF. Most of his journeys at the time were 4-5 miles twice a day to & from work. Regular blasts up the M40 after his girlfriend moved to Buckingham cleared it with no garage visit required.

pwood999 replied to the thread P38A HEVAC Blend Motor Testing.
Either of those sounds more likely. As both the set in the car, and these go through the resistance range smoothly, will try the replacement HEVAC first. If required, I have 5 spare pots ready. Did one in the other car a while back, but had...

Took the right blend apart to check. Def says 10K on the pot & measures 12.3k on terminals !! Bit more than 5%, but hey ho, if the HEVAC uses it as a voltage divider then should be ok. Will see what happens with the "new" HEVAC.

pwood999 replied to the thread P38A HEVAC Blend Motor Testing.
Also did some tests on my spare heater box & motors today. Tested each motor with 9V battery & multimeter on the pots. They do seem to vary a bit, but we have to assume the HEVAC simply tests the voltage across the pot across the range when...

Avoid trying to order from an LR Dealer. Somebody posted a while back that UK dealers will take your money, and then inform the keys are on back order. Instead ask the dealer for the "Lockset Bar Code" based on your documents & VIN. It's a...

pwood999 replied to the thread EAS relay live feed.
Given that the car is parked for static leak tracing, just unplug the relay. Then once that's done put the relay back, and do live leak tracing with engine running. In the latter case you're looking for leaks during normal operation. Better...

pwood999 replied to the thread P38A HEVAC Blend Motor Testing.
Update on this. Replaced the connector on the heater core sensor, so now that reads correctly (90% of the time, but occaisionally jumps to -20degC !). Re-visited the HEVAC control, and confirmed no voltage out of the L272M driver chip...

Just a Nanocom, spare compressor & small adjustable spanner (for fitting it), plus some oil & water in mine these days. Years ago I always had a toobox in the car, but these days if required will get it recovered home instead.

pwood999 replied to the thread P38A MAF on diesel.
Nanocom doesn't appear to show the MAF. It does MAP(boost) & Ambient pressure, plus various other stuff, but for MAF you would need to measure the voltage separately.
