Ok, i am still not sure this was a smart buy, but this old 109 came home today (always wanted One).
My first 30kms on a series, what an experience!
First things i noticed:
- speedometer and odometer dont work;
- left blinkers dont work;
- it...
It's possibly the heat causing the flare up. Happens with me.
Glad it's cooled down, no idea how it's the back of 3. Did the usual adult stuff and then made some jam. 😁 Now watching shinty and wondering did I accidentally play shiny instead of...
Sorry — didn’t think to update you.
It’s sorted now. The mechanic said the adjuster (at the master cylinder I assume) was wound right the way out and he hadn’t adjusted it when he fitted the new clutch.
My theory is that the fluid expanded in...
Well I'll be jiggered. You're right about the holes; well spotted! And good idea about making any changes easily reversible.
As far as the bolts are concerned, I could order s/s bolts and just dip the heads in blue paint prior to fitting. Yeah...
That's them. Thanks for your help. It has never had steps on while I've owned it so they must have been cut down a long while back. I can;t recall removing the left over bits but they can head for the scrap.
Cheers
Import it to the UK and rent it out as a rugged mobile home.
You’ll recoup some of your costs, whilst allowing ample time to get a better idea of the market.
The big problem is. Its what you wanted and spent a bunch of money on to get it to where you wanted/what you wanted.
Spending that sort of money is the owners choice for what they want. I dont disagree it looks like a great 110.
But you will...
My other bug bear other than the no return on thread is the ones with a problem which several of us here give good similar advice on how to sort but the still go off down their own road on what they think the issue is and coming back again with...
Possible there was no free play at clutch master cylinder rod, the result is like someone riding the clutch pedal all the time .
Clutch does not fully engage and so slips some and will wear out quick.
Nice un cool smornin. Gentle breeze. No rain int forcast this week. Tis a shame. We need some. Squirrels av bin chasing each uvva. They dun't like each uvva entering me nut feeding area despite there being enuff for all to feed.
Sorn’d her. 😢
After roughly 1k miles of testing, she’ll be hibernating until I return.
On the plus side, she’s only got 18 months until she’s Tax & MOT exempt. ☺️
I'd go with an Old man Emu kit if I wanted a lift. They are very highly regarded. You'll need caster corrected front arms id say as a minimum with any lift above 1". A standard pound foot rated spring if you use it for normal landrover duties...
So basically you're buying it for someone else? It's your Landrover and your money but you won't do what you want with it because someone else in the future may not like it? Mate, it's your vehicle. If you want to change something then change it...
As mentioned above it is your land rover do what you want to it, but if you are looking at a potential future sale then as you say originality is what is currently valued, but everyone will modify their vehicle in the way they want. That is what...
Chatting to a ground worker on site today, a fellow Tratter nutter, worked in an LR outfit at some time.
'Either you get Defenders, or you dont..'
Am delighted to reside in the former half of the statement.
Obverously summink wrong with the rest...
Few photos of hours of blood, sweat and beers and photos of the final result. Who said drinking alcohol was bad for you… oh bugger just realized it should have been painted red 😝
I've got the necessary stuff to do it myself. What I don't got is the time. When we are young, we give up our time for money. When we are old, we give up our money for increasingly precious time.
Thanks,Iv now cracked the problem!
