The spindle generally has a little lateral movement for alignment purposes. In my experience, the jumping is caused by the cable inner binding in the outer, sometimes due to broken strands. The inner alternately catches and then frees so causing...
I finally remove the front cover, the bolt was tightened correctly to 5O NM ,do not need to crank the pulley...
I need now to get new gaskets (oil pump and front cover) and reset again ...
Top hose was cold and squishy this morning.
No obvious leaks either, so fingers crossed.
Next issue is why my battery doesn't last more than a few hours, but I'll save that for another thread
No vacuum as such could be possible matey, the only ways air gets in is if it's introduced by draining a system.
A leak or headgasket failure which pumps hot air into the system which your temp gauge would indicate 👍
I'd go for an air lock aswell🤔
How was the system bled?
There are way to many things on a lot of engines with their own coolant pipes and air locks are a nightmare sometimes to get rid of 🤬
There is a potentiometer in the pump top. I'm trying to remember what it looked like but I recall you can clean it. I think it might have some sort of ribbon cable that solders on one side in order to get it out and clean underneath it but I...

Exactly what mine did at bang-on 63K miles. Attempts to have it repaired failed due to lack of parts as this era of instrument falls between the old fashion 'clocks & modern digital.
You could try to source a second-hand one, depending on how...
The way to get the vents out is to use two hook shaped tools. Large Allen keys are perfect. Insert them in between the vanes, rotate 90 degrees so they act on the rear of the vents and pull sharply out.
The plastic will be very brittle by now...
Good morning everyone,
I was able to complete everything successfully. Thank you very much!
When I put the car back on the wheels, everything aligned perfectly and I was able to insert the rear bolt by hand.
Yes, I will continue to work on the...
Not going to go through this line by line, but there is some truth in some of what you say.
But ;).
A car that won’t rise and gives “compressor needs to cool” is generally a leak or worn compressor because of a leak. Message only seen in the...
