Definitely rotate the motor & then use the screwdriver alternately on opposite sides of the crank. Also make sure you have loosened the grub screw sufficently. It will not hurt to use some penetrating fluid, as long as you clean it thoroughly...

Normally you get the screwdriver up the side and rotating teh screwdriver side to side is enough to free it off.

On the bright side, there's not even any dust, let alone water damage/corrosion etc. Which means a new one is required.
