I reckon them bearings are just about done, quite a common fail on older 200 motors, when really bad they can move and cause low oil pressure. From memory I think that flat on the cam is normal, when you order the bearings from Turners maybe ask...

Am I in the minority where by I do not bother priming or prefilling the filter and never have? There is enough fuel left in the system to start the engine and leave it idling, once idling it will very quickly fill and bleed itself. May...

I would bodge up whatever I could to save taking the crank out. Maybe lightly take an angle grinder with a flap disc to the crank taper as the engine is ticking over? obviously not for to long as no water will be circulating.

As long as it is within spec and you are changing regularly to the interval (either time or mileage) I am of the opinion brand does not matter and everything else is just a sales technique!

I also recovered the original but I used the original covering rather than replacing and just removed it and reglues it into place. I second the need for a good quality glue. that is what makes it!

I recovered the original headlining, if doing it again I would copy what people have done on here and stuck foam direct to the roof and then covered that with material. Good glue is the secret ingredient.

Even better if you have replaced the manual lift pump with a Facet one.

Fill new filter with diesel, refit filter, start it and allow to tick over for a minute or two, you will hear any air go through as it might misfire slightly for a few seconds then will run clear. The bosch ve pump is very good at self bleeding...
