Well today I started off tidying up the rear door on my 110 with some checker plate... naughty I know but it looks better than holes!
Went out with the dog and I could smell petrol after a while... pulled over and looked, petrol spraying...
Spent a hateful day welding the chassis on the Ninety, another hateful day to look forward to tomorrow.
Why is it when welding on a bit of scrap metal you get a lovely weld, get underneath with your head wedged between propshaft and exhaust and...
One of the rear crossmembers had seen the metal moth generate fresh air where steel should be.
Tonight's task was to fill it in with a small patch:
And weld it back in.
Only got access to arc at the moment and that can be a bit fierce on...
Removed the bed system
Fixed(pop rivit) a bar back onto the tail gate
Installed the new spare wheel brackets to get the tyre off the floor.
Off to shops for nuts/bolts/washers. Replace stocks
And when the mrs won’t hold your nuts ;) use a...
Update….
3good days of lanes. We decided not to do strata as lots of bikes out on the Taffy Dakar.
They warned us 1 normal lane had a landrover off the edge & rolled down the bank & been there a few days. We was able to miss the section...
Dry and dusty again. Twas my son's girlfriends first trip, don't think she was that enthusiastic about such activities. Only did a few hours in the end.
Will get a video done sometime soonish.
How very American of you using psi! However 80psi sounds very high, are you sure that is correct? At the risk of starting a large debate on tyre pressures I tend to run mine at about 32-34psi (2.2 bar in correct measurements ;)), So 80 sounds...
Mine needed an adjustment this week. 3 clicks as normal and parked on the hill. 10 mins later it rolled back 5 foot into the Hilux behind me….centre double locking nuts had vibrated loose green laning. May change this to a single nylock instead
Leaving the car in gear when parking, will be a hard habit to break.
Sorry to hear about your truck, who came off worse? My money is on the slightly softer-nosed Hilux.
The rear floor had enough metal moth holes to think pulling the floor up and replacing it was a good idea:
Its not a job to be rushed. I think there were 66 spot welds and I lost count with the steel rivets, some of which were easy to access...
That is something that I hadn't though of until now and did make a big difference to mine both in hardtop form and now its station wagon configuration. On the floor of the rear load area (and second row foot well in the station wagon) I have 12mm...
Was due to drive strata & spotted loads of motors heading that way. There is a small diversion route due to damage & been authorised etc by council. I do take photos of motors/idiots & have reported them. Normally stop & ask a few questions &...
You are right but they have enough evidence as it is in reality and you cant blame the council.
The 4x4 community are in general their own worst enemy, 10 vehicles and not a single person could see anything wrong with their behaviour. I have no...
Ok so theres more glue on my hands than there is in the tin bit aftet some stretching, pulling and pushing I’m pleased with the results, unfortunately the glue reacted slightly with the expanding foam and theres a slight dip where I’ve filled in...
To move on the window installation, I cleaned up the two sliding window catches. They cleaned up quite well, but unfortunately I am missing the two plungers. So if anyone knows where I can get some, let me know! To get this moving I used the ones...
