If you've got the go ahead from your financial director i'd get the nice new one. I spent (and am spending) countless hours on it. I do get it about wanting to repair the original though.

I'm hoping to use the old foam, it seems in fairly good condition 😁 Boss lady saw the dash last night and said, don't bother repairing, buy the new one, stop being tight, it's only £600! Still undecided, I'd quite like to have a go at a repair 🤪

PROGRESS UPDATE:

Taken it out for a drive this morning. Cooling nicely, no new noises. Only issue is a slightly higher idle than before. Pretty sure that’s just a screw adjustment. I’ll take a look when I’m wearing my scruffs again.

Wedged some foam insulation round the fuel filter, the filter bracket has broken off. Good job it's has a housing round it.

Found a nice flat parking spot for the night. And had a good day on the lanes in wales. Friend decides to drag the trailer round to see how it is(done well,but you have to remove trailer electric to raise the suspension to highest settings)
