@kermit_rr been away from racing for a few years but these clubs are friendly & most drivers like others looking over the motors. If you show your face often enough and help out you do get offers of a seat in racers. We used to do charity days...

There is a Disco not far from me that seems to be being stripped and sold for parts. I’ll have a look on tomorrows dog walk to see if it has any steps/sliders fitted.

My daughter’s (my old) TD4 looks not dissimilar in the engine bay. Oh I agree - waaayyy over-priced, but a lovely base for someone to start with.
