    EAS rear suspension dropping

The valve stuck closed fault can be two possible faults. Its either that the valve is actually stuck closed. Or its a faulty height sensor. If the EAS controller reads a certain height that is too low and its tries to pump up the coresponding airbag but it doesnt see a change on the sensor value...

P38A [P38] Common coolant leak locations

The bottom of the throttle body where the coolant runs through is held on by 3 tiny bolts, if the seiling surface is not perfect or if these bolts get over thightened or if the gasket gets old it will leak. Clean it properly, flatten and clean the little plates sealing surface with some sand...

RRC with the best parts from newer RR

Youll have to stick with the Borg warner transferecase because of the left hand drop propshafts. The LT230 is right hand drop. If you going to take P38 axels use the P38 air suspension too, the P38 air suspension is set up for solid axels while the newer airbags from independent suspension...

RRC with the best parts from newer RR

Yeah i think the TDV8 had the 8HP. This is what i would do B57 engine along with its 8HP transmission out of a G05 BMW X5 and all its electronics that go with it, mainly the ECU. Design an adaptor plate to fit the borg warner transfercase to the 8HP. I would try to stay away from newer Range...

RRC with the best parts from newer RR

Have a look at the ZF8HP transmissions. They are a decent step up from the 6HP. Im in the planning phase of changing my P38s 4HP to an 8HP a really cool part about this is the 4HP has a 2.7:1 1st gear the 8HP ive gotten has a 5.5:1 1st. So crawl speed is going to be insanely slow. The breaking...

    P38A Tuning the 4.0 thor

Tornado is trying to sell their stuff so of course they are going to say its worth it. It just makes way more sense to do the cam and ecu at the same time. Its not a national secret but the knowledge is guarded by a huge amount of man hours to reverse engineer what each bit on that eeprom chip...

    P38A Tuning the 4.0 thor

As far as i know its only tornado thats able to "tune" the bosch ECU's. Without doing the cam its virtually pointless to tune the ecu. But these engines are good ones to learn on, they still quiet simple and there is a huge amount of resources available online.

P38 brake fluid leak from reservoir

+1 on doing the brake bleed procedure as per Rave. If you think youve got all the air out on a step give it another 5 pumps and more air will come out.

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Yeah i have no experience with the nanocom, so someone else will have to advise on this

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Yeah i clean all those connections on the becm, while you at it do the earth points on the body behind the becm and all the ring lug terminals on it and all the fuses and stuff. The window not set is just after removing the battery you have to fully open and close all the windows for the becm...

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

When a fault occurs the abs ecu always logs it into its memory. It then tells the BECM that it has an active fault. The BECM then instructs the instrument cluster to turn on the ABS/TC lights and display the messages. So if there is a fault the abs controller wont instruct the BECM to indicate a...

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

No that assembly looks right to me. I suspect what you referring to as the abs ring is the cv boot clamp. There is a steel cup that sits around the main cv body. This steel cup has a hole through which the abs sensor sticks. The steel cup is there to keep mud out of the abs ring. But my...

P38 new problem with abs and traction fault

Heres abit of a dumb question: But did you actually clear the fault codes on the ABS controller? What are the current fault codes that the ABS controller gives? Did you insert the ABS sensors fully? If they not close enough to the toothed wheel they wont give reliable readings.
