Oil is oil is shouldn't be in there as said maybe do a service all new plugs gaskets to prevent oil ingress etc

As you say...plug or coil pack the m62 is a pretty simple engine and your fault code is telling you no7.
Coil pack failure is common so is oil down inside flooding the coil pack causing misfire issues usually caused by failed gaskets on valve covers also very common.
Pull the coil pack and inspect

They should be compatable many fitvyhe d4 steering wheel to the d3 for the heated wheel function

Try a new clock spring and wd40 is not a contact cleaner :rolleyes:

Pretty definitely requires an oil and filter change loads of how to on the tube it's pretty simple to be honest the cattle grinding should go away . You can not drain all the oil out so consider doing a fluid flush a couple of times along with the pan/filter

Forget that the discovery sport is a completly different gearbox all together. Sensor may still be in the gearbox tho
