Your TD5 might must have the 2nd horn near the drivers headlight then if it's still going off.
If not then it must have been your BBUS sounder going off rather than the horn.
Do you think it's just not running true or maybe the mount plate is bent?
Either way it's going to be interesting to do a warranty claim.
I'm going to give it a go though.
You can see on the tensioner the belt is running across it at an angle and the belt is too far back on the other pulleys (maybe?)
The belt doesn't seem to be catching anywhere apart from the ridge on the tensioner pulley.
I haven't taken the...
As you slow down and stop it stops?
Sounds like a rotational noise, like sticking something in a bicycle wheel spoke. Propshafts maybe?
Afraid you will need to have a roll around underneath, jack each wheel up and give it a spin.
You can drive...
Don't normally believe most of the hacks you see on the net but saw similar on a well known site so gave it a go before buying new lamps.
Wipac crystals. Bit of tooth paste on the wifes washing up sponge and a minute or two of roundy roundy...
Your eyes are better than mine, that's the sump cover then?
Change the sump gasket but it's usually coming from higher up, intermediate shaft seal maybe.
That's my experience anyway.
I am sure you will find a video on YouTube which will show rather than try and explain.
If you look at the offending unit it's quite logical how it's removed.
I would fit a new drop arm aswell, saves the aggravation of trying to remove the old one.
If the top down to the head gasket is free of oil leaks, timing case is free of oil leaks then it's only really oil filter housing, engine cooler pipes, lift pump and vacuum pump to look at.
Stick the breather pipe onto the inner wheel arch out...
That is pretty bad, even by land rover standards. Rocker cover gasket can make a mess but not usually that bad.
I would start there though. Also remember some of that might well be diesel.
I bought one of them torque wrenches with a pointer on it, whatever they are called.
Bracket is on the injection pump.
Maybe it will become more obvious when I strip it out.
What could be the cause of this?
Belt has been on 500 miles and had a new timing case, and oem belt kit.
I know 300tdi had a problem with this but not the 200tdi.
Haven't stripped it out yet and to be honest this continuing saga is making me lose...
The old roof had front damage so moved the front rib.
This one I’m removing the rear rib. All the brackets etc are attached so makes my life easier.
And as a bonus it has a enclosed rear flap, removed the old mesh style so have a spare
Greased the propshafts, changed engine oil and filters on my 90.
I know it's not a Defender but I took the rear seats and carpet out of the D2 to change the fuel pump when it arrives.
We cut one down for the 2a when we had that, how are you going to do it?
I drilled the end rib off, moved it level with the end of the tub, riveted back on, cut off the excess and refitted the tailgate.
If the engine stopped running when driving the steering would be heavy and the brakes would require more effort to stop the vehicle.
I guess it depends in which order it happened.
The wiring looks stock and it's worked fine for years. I'm thinking must be a loose connection somewhere which might be affected by the vibration of the engine maybe.
Job for another day I think.
My son has been mentioning the heater fan doesn't work. I have been faffing around with it a bit with the ignition on, I can't get it NOT to work?
Turns out it works fine with ignition on but not when the engine is running.
Going to clean the...
