I think he mentioned he sells or designs or maintains (or maybe all three) machinery for balancing drive shafts and prop shafts.

If you did inform them you would probably be the only one. 1. You would need to be aware it should be 4WD. 2. You would need to know that to be 4WD it would need to have a propshaft. 3. You would need to know what a propshaft looked like. 4...

From what I've heard from MOT inspectors and used car dealers, the majority of Freelander 1's in the UK do not have the propshaft so it's not a big deal with them any more. The most common reason for it being missing is the previous owner or the...

It's a very entertaining channel where two Germans make fun of just about everyone, especially themselves. They started by documenting the maintenance and repairs of their Disco's and now buy broken Disco's to repair. The latest is a Disco 4 with...

Yes mate, that's a good call, I rarely use the channel change buttons for the radio so could try them. The only issue that springs to mind is finding another input on the VCU to use but I'm sure there would be some way to manage it. In the...

I had another thought last night. Went picking up our youngest from work, it occurred to me that I automatically pull the left hand steering wheel regen paddle to slow down quickly. Would adding a paddle to the steering wheel be advantageous to...

Thanks mate, You're right about this but it isn't as easy to implement as I hoped. I took the car out for a drive tonight with 4 passengers and found there are several issues with the brake pedal regen. All the testing I had done was on a small...

I considered that and even bought an immersion heater timer as my car only ever draws 3kW, but that doesn't resolve the issue of the car being turned on at the ignition switch right through the night. What I do at the minute is start charging by...

Looking at the master cylinder the manufacturer stamp on it is AP, I assume that's not the original but an aftermarket cheapo... Tried bleeding but to no avail. LR specialist by me sells the LUK one which I assume is the way to go? Thanks

This is a post I put on the OI forum and got a couple of pointers what to do. "Hi guys I'm joining this thread because I'm currently trying to figure out a way to automate charging when I plug in the charger cable and at the same time figure out...

I mostly start off in 2nd and use it up to 30mph, third up to 50mph and 4th thereafter. But the switch is not the issue, like you said it would be relatively trivial to fit a switch to the clutch pedal and reinstate it. The bigger issue is the...

Thanks mate, that's a wee job for the summer.

Got mine from here on t’bay: £49.99 with enough material to do the roof and the door inserts. Plus two cans of glue good for 120 degrees C (IIRC). 👍🏻

You guys are probably right and TBH I had considered reinstating the clutch for this but I don't think it would be worth the effort. I've been playing with the settings and it works great as it is, and you know the old saying? "Keep it simple...

I had a master fail when I tried to bleed it after replacing the clutch and heard somewhere it is not uncommon for that to happen so beware. Cheap aftermarket master cylinders can have a low bite point so if possible get an OEM one if you decide...

Nice one! I replaced a clutch in my TD4 a few years ago but when I went to bleed it I got nothing. Turns out it's not uncommon for the master to fail when a new clutch is installed so I fitted a new one and all good again. The only issue I had...

I agree that the term is massively over used. AI has been around for years in one form or another. Computers have been playing chess and other strategy games since the ZX80 came out and even earlier so that was a type of AI. But the difference...

Yes I found the same with all of them. I know a little about programming and I can follow the logic even if I don't fully understand everything but as you say it did all the hard work for me so all I needed to do was tweak it a bit.

It is much better than you would expect. You can use ChatGPT or Claude or a couple of others, but I recently switched browser to Brave because it has adblock built in (Which works great in Youtube BTW) but it turns out the default search engine...

There are some fabulous threads on here where people have replaced their headlining - mainly in the Disco section I think. They generally say what cloth they used and from where.

Last few days I've been playing with the VCU firmware trying to figure out if it was possible to have regen. It should hopefully help improve the range a bit but even more important it should take some pressure off the brakes. At the moment the...

Take the headlining board out and strip it clean and do it once !! And properly :)

With the correct glue that can stand hot sun. I had a couple of goes at gluing part of mine but I think the glue was rubbish because the one time we had sun over the summer it fell down again. Any suggestions where to get new cloth as mine could...

I've seen how 'lazy' you are on your EV thread, and the suspension lift topic and many many other topics :D

Hard to argue with this. The results are a little 1970's Cadillac looking but better than having the sodding thing drooping onto your head. I should have taken the headlining out of the old car before scrapping it but at that point I...

If you want it fixed quick and aren't too worried about making it look factory or just need a temporary fix until you sort it properly then have a look at these. https://amzn.to/40IDeCA I used them in my car and the results were....... ahem...

Smooth and quiet. The rear diff was particularly silent... ;) Slight pull to the left but to be expected given the suspension and steering component changes. Once the driveshaft is swapped it's off for alignment we go.
