    Steering shake

damper should not make a noise and no the pads being tight is not the problem. If it was ok before fitting the damper why not fit the old one back on and try?

    Steering shake

There are so many bushes at the front end that you need a good damper to take away any shake. when you go over a bump at speed the rubber bushes will flex and without the damper the steering will shake violently until you slow down. I would first off check when someone is shaking steering...

    miss-fire

First off find out which Cyl is giving miss by pulling off leads one at a time then swop plugs and lead over and if it is the same Cyl then you have got to think it will not be injector as it still misses on gas. if the compression is ok or close remove the rocker cover on that bank and check...

Steering Pump Removel and refitting help needed

Depends on what model of disco. If 2 or 300 then just remove the pulley then the high and low pressure pipes at the pump. Then remove the four bolts that hold the pump to the casing and remove the pump rearwards.

    Disco Kangaroo??

. When it starts to get sluggish stop right away.If it is NOT a TD5 then remove fuel filter. When unscrewing the filter, fuel should spill out before it is completely removed. if not, once removed look inside and the fuel should be at the top. If it is then no air leaks to the filter. If...

    Back door won't open 300tdi

This may sound silly but here goes. Is the lever for opening door sticky. It has to go right back to the lower position to reset catch to open. remove landrover badge and push lever down with scredriver. Bad for sticking at fulcrums

    gear selecter problems

I am not going to keep this going but when this first became a problem with the 200 dti( which was sometimes at the pdi) this was the method suggested by land rover. I meant to say with the vehicle not moving but engine running gently put the gearstick towards 2nd. pushing slightly then...

    gear selecter problems

If it was the clutch not clearing it would baulk in 2nd gear not crunch. 200 dti were bad for 2nd gear. There is a modified baulk ring. You could try and gently get it ino 2nd without clutch and without the vehicle moving. Just keep the gearstick pressing against 2nd gear for about 30 sec...

    300tdi oil light query

Unlikely to be head gasket. 90% of the time it is the switch. You either change the switch or pay to get the oil pressure checked.
