I thought the same mr OP, had oil and filter change done on my TD6 last year, and about 500 miles later it was black already, I panicked, spent few hrs online them slept easy after the replies I got

mr rs2000 Was you getting battery drain issues too? I replaced my hedgehog last December for the newer type, but having drain issues again. Seems wierd it may of gone again in 12months? Yours, ex cosworthowner :)

Think it was a 'Mann' filter from eurocarparts.. Will the different diameter make a difference as its housed in a sealed unit? Is it worth buying one from LR and replacing it to be sure? Cheers Hippo

Just done an oil and filter change on the TD6 and the old element I took out was smaller in diameter than the new one I got from ECP. Same height, but new one was about 1" bigger diameter. It fitted, so I used it just wondered if anyone else has found this??? Cheers

Hi Saint Hope you're sitting comfortably..... Fuse 28 - headlight wipers, drain of 0.12a. Am thinking maybe the relay is failing and allowing current to pass? (Have tried resetting wipers both by pulling fuse, and physically reseating it on the wiper stalk) Fuse 12 - FSR, ac and front seats...

Asabove, what is the BCU, where is it and what does it do? Any finally, are they common to cause a battery drain? I have a drain from the fuse common to the BCU and have been told it could be that? Any help appreciated

Cheers guys I replaced the FSR last winter (about a year ago actually, just before Xmas) so was doubting it'd go again, but read somewhere on another forum one user had replaced 3 in as many years? Is this common? Mine had the newer FSR fitted when I bought her, and I've put 1 new one in 12...

Cheers Hippo, was going to but its only 1/3 of my total current drains, so not sure if leaving the fuse out would help determine if its the wiper relay causing the drain on the battery (for that circuit anyway)?

Doors are very sticky in the cold weather, and deciding to treat them with a rubber treatment to give them a bit of life. Should i clean the rubber seals first, and if so, what with? Cheers

Cheers peeps Saint V8 - I've pulled the fuse to see if it reset the wiper arm on headlight, but no. Even resorted it removing the arm from the shaft and moving it around a few notches so it sat right. Week later, one was indeed sitting below the headlight glass again (grrr). Been told next...

Could be faulty FSR (resistor)? I replaced mine 10 months ago and got a feeling it may of gone again, I read on another forum one guy had fitted 3 in 3 years!

Hippo/all Reading with interest, particulary about the park heater as I have a TD6 with battery drain issues. Did all TD6 have the park heater (i presume to warm the diesel before you get in it?). If so, how do i test to see if: a) mine is working b) if its set to switch on/off Thanks...

Dragging this thread up again guys, my bitch has eaten another battery grrrrr :mad: John L - Where did you disconnect the satnavdrive, in the boot left hand side panel? If so, what plug did you pull? I never use the satnav in my TD6 so am tempted to disconnect it to see if it helps...

Is it a simple DIY job? Or do I have to take half the engine bay out to get to it? Is there a guide anywhere to doing it if it is a bit complex? Cheers guys

Hoping this isn't related to my battery drain problem, the lower tailgate doesn't seem to lock home fully on the left hand side as you look at it, it closes and enough for the upper to latch into it, but with just the lower one shut, you can wiggle the left hand side slightly, whereas the right...

And where's going to be best to get the best battery I can for her at a decent price?

Cheers data mate Battery is only about 14 months old, cane with 4 or 5 yr warranty from battery2u.co.uk, do you reckon they'd honour the guarantee? Or will it be case of send it back get it tested etc etc and them trying to get out of replacing it? (I know it's prob my fault it's shagged, just...
