Disco 2 Yet more ACE woes

Have tested a different ECU with the same results. I'm 99% sure the pipes are correct. Only possible question is the feed and return from pump. But I'm pretty sure that's correct too.

Disco 2 Yet more ACE woes

Right, I'm *STILL* at war with ACE, and starting to lose the will to live I have a design development engineering block Pump works. plenty of fluid activity. New 3/8" hydraulic hoses to the front, original hard lines to the back Filter is clean (though does seem to catch metal filings from...

Double checked the solenoids, both reading correctly. Have hired a nanocom as I need a spare key and to fettle a few other annoyances.

Top 2 are reading 0 ohm. Left one is 4.8. Have originals available that are at least reading 2.0 ohm on the top ones.

    Disco 2 ACE woes

I'll have to drop the ace block to measure, but at least that gives me something to go on. Previous owner removed ACE for rotted pipes, have replaced all leaky pipes and the block and pump, so, hoping it's nothing much.

    Disco 2 ACE woes

I'm sure I read that ACE doesn't store codes, just let's you know while it's currently crapping the bed. I do fear the only solution is diagnostics.

It had warning lights on. previous owner just replaced pump with pulley and shorter belt and pulled the relay.

    Disco 2 ACE woes

Right, because I'm a lunatic and masochist, I'm attempting to recommission ACE on my disco. Got a good used rebuilt ACE block, working pump. Fixed all the pipes and have no leaks, lots of flow in the header tank. Buuut, as soon as I hit about 10mph, I get the red ACE light and the bings...

Disco 2 BCU problems but maybe not?

I completely failed to update this, so I will on the grounds of not disappointing future googlers. I initially fixed this issue by using the disco to shove bales into the back of a barn, and broke it again the other day by changing my battery ground terminal. I went through all the grounds...

Disco 2 BCU problems but maybe not?

Alas, No nanocom! I'll probably do some earth ****ery tomorrow, Along with a lot of stabbing cables to trace where electrickery is getting to. Had the engine bay fusebox out today, all clean as anything else. So is either connectors on cables (unlikely because the modules are so clean)...

Disco 2 BCU problems but maybe not?

Right, the Disco is slowly getting closer to becoming a bonfire. Had no interior lights for a while, which is no real drama and no bother as far as I'm concerned. A few weeks ago the main beam telltale light stopped working, sometimes showing up dull, but mostly nothing. This week, the...

Disco 2 TD5 hard starting, Runs for a minute or 3 then dies.

Right, I was getting the dreaded not starting problems, and a bit of oil in the red plug, usual ****.and being a 205k mile car, I figure do the injector seals while I'm in there, because why not. Anyway, after a bit of ****ing around, she runs well, but takes a while to start, even after doing...

Disco 2 Clutch, Worth replacing anything/everything?

Not a lot. Springs back nicely. No DMF complaints. Looks clean and tidy too. So I suspect was done the same time the clutch was.

Disco 2 Clutch, Worth replacing anything/everything?

Gearbox replacement, transfer box leaking. Ended up ordering a new valeo kit anyway, figure tidy boxes and a new clutch in a 500 quid disco used for towing lots is still decent value.

Disco 2 Clutch, Worth replacing anything/everything?

To be honest, I've not a clue with clutch wear etc. As far as I can see, everything is in decent nick here, but would rather drop needed cash now than pull a bastid gearbox again. Flywheel seems fine, no real slop and goes back to where it's meant to be, will obviously do the spigot bush and...

    Disco 2 D2 Difficult downshifting into 2nd/1st

Several crap tractors around the place, so double clutching is a well developed skill. Still a pain in the arse while I'm towing mind.
