Right, because I'm a lunatic and masochist, I'm attempting to recommission ACE on my disco.

Got a good used rebuilt ACE block, working pump.

Fixed all the pipes and have no leaks, lots of flow in the header tank.

Buuut, as soon as I hit about 10mph, I get the red ACE light and the bings.

I'm currently too poor for a code reader (wifeys freelander needed tyres and wheel bearings, and a spring, and ABS sensor...)

So, anything obvious I might have missed?
 
If ACE was previously removed, I can't remember if you have to turn it off via diagnostics to avoid warning lights. Have you re-enabled it?
 
It had warning lights on. previous owner just replaced pump with pulley and shorter belt and pulled the relay.
 
It might need the old fault codes deleted from the ecu memory

I'm sure I read that ACE doesn't store codes, just let's you know while it's currently crapping the bed.

I do fear the only solution is diagnostics.
 
Check the solenoids, what resistance?

All plugs OK

Try another pressure transducer.

Read codes
 
It's probably the fault which made the previous owner to disable it, unfortunately without a proper diagnostic tool it's a guessing game and can be expensive to replace parts just like that. As long as there is serious fluid activity in the tank at idle you can drive it without fear untill you find the fault cos the pump is on the safe side. All you can do with multimeter s to check the solenoids resistance

for troubleshooting purpose: the resistance of both DCVs(top of the valve block, DCV1-toward front; DCV2-toward rear)= 2.7 Ohm, pressure control solenoid(on the left side of block) = 5.7 Ohm.
 
I'll have to drop the ace block to measure, but at least that gives me something to go on.

Previous owner removed ACE for rotted pipes, have replaced all leaky pipes and the block and pump, so, hoping it's nothing much.
 
Top 2 are reading 0 ohm.

Left one is 4.8.

Have originals available that are at least reading 2.0 ohm on the top ones.
 
Worth a try, those values i posted were measured with high quality proffesional multimeter, there can be a certain difference between tools too, if we presume that your tool is reading 0.7 lower then you are within limits cos a roughly 5% difference is accepted by the system too
 
I would say your transducer is faulty. But a Hawkeye is needed to be more certain. Get another transducer and try that.
 
Double checked the solenoids, both reading correctly.

Have hired a nanocom as I need a spare key and to fettle a few other annoyances.
 
I did have an ECU failure on the drive relays, may be worth buying an Ebay special as a spare.
