The workshop manual requires you to put a blob of sealant at the corner of the halfmoon bit. Might help if that's where your leak is

    Clutch

Last time I did the clutch i got a few lengths of threaded rod and screwed them in place of a couple of the bellhousing bolts. You can then slide the gearbox back on them and rest on the gearbox crossmember without removing the whole thing. When it comes to replacing you just slide them back and...

Indicator dash light not working - one side only

Have you got it sorted? I had the same problem so I took the dash out to test the tell tail which worked fine. Turned out to just be the connector wasn't in properly!

    Nanocom Results / Rough Starting

Just the once and brandbnew injectors. Mine might be due to fuel pump pressure as it's quite noisy; does mean i can hear the glow plugs come on and off with the current draw changing the pitch of it slightly

Stuck on a greenlane NW of Marlborough

Massive thanks to @Hicap phill and his wife for coming out and giving us a tug, and a tug and a tug. Lesson definitely learnt - when out solo, carry some waders so the other half can go depth finding and check how solid the underwater ground is. And also to put recovery kit back into the landy...

Stuck on a greenlane NW of Marlborough

I'm about 300m shy of the road ahead of me. Track conditions are slightly clayey ruts, but not churned up . Am able to get all 4 wheels spinning so lost traction. Tried jacking the wheels up to get a log under but no joy. One passenger on scene, both got warm kit and blanket in the back. Engine...

    Very sick TD5

The exhaust is free flowing - straight through pipe and no cat helps that so I can rule that out. I do get some white smoke out the exhaust when cranking it and it's on the verge of firing but just won't go...

    Very sick TD5

Hi all After having a runaway engine due to a badly fitting injector o-ring filling up the sump, the engine is now pretty sick. The diesel contaminated oil has been replaced and the injectors are fitted with genuine seals and o-rings. The engine eventually got going with a good bump start (just...

    Good idea or bad idea?

not sure about the switch with the clutch. i always depress the clutch when i start the car anyway...and with so many cars these days needed to depress it as standard. Saying that, in my old job I remember the bosses wife spending ages trying to start the tractor without putting her foot on...
