Massive thanks to @Hicap phill and his wife for coming out and giving us a tug, and a tug and a tug.
Lesson definitely learnt - when out solo, carry some waders so the other half can go depth finding and check how solid the underwater ground is. And also to put recovery kit back into the landy after cleaning it out.
Have a single pic from before it got dark to keep you all happy.
voluntary restraining order.
Hence drivers need to be “restrained”@Skolmate
Another restriction on these lanes are seasonal and dated. Look at sign post.
& yes people still ignore these

not if you want to continue laning. So a VRO is still fair game but not recommended?
So a VRO is still fair game but not recommended?
Thought if it was "voluntary" it means they would like you not to drive it & cause further damage?
@BOOMERThat is the way I read it, Voluntary and I understood it to also be for motorised 4 wheeled vehicles and if needed motorcycles. But Personally, If someone knowingly drives on a VRO then I think they are idiots as they are just giving ammunition to the ones who want to shut all byways to the greenlaning community.
If there are VRO's in Wiltshire still in place when they should not be then speak to the GLASS rep or the RoW officer. Simples really. . Wiltshiire has a great online presence for the Byways etc.

My understanding of a VRO is that it is a quick and easy way to make known to the wider audience that a lane is deemed to be in danger of damage . It saves getting a TTRO on it , and we should be capable of understanding that it is there for a reason and using common sense.
Cheers
Think I may join GLASS
