These gearboxes can suffer from main gearbox oil migrating to the transfer box, worth checking if transfer is overful and main box low. Get someone to press the clutch peddle whilst you look at the flexi pipe that runs down at the back of the engine it may be "Ballooning" under pressure

Is it a later series three with steering lock type of switch ? Simple enough to remove and start with a screwdriver in the switch slot then oil/check the lock.

If it has stood and not been driven in anger for a while it really needs a good long run to clear any residual oil. Be sure to replace the banjo bolt on the oil feed .

I have used ABS plastic front outer wing skins with good results, cheapish and do not dent with minor knocks.

Are you using thread sealant ? If so this could be buggering up the switches ability to earth to the engine block.

Looks series three to me. Have you asked about import duty on spare parts ? Nice project if you have workshop/welding facilities there. You would not get many spanners in hand luggage allowance.

Be sure to pull the injectors and remove the steel washers, I tend to use a pencil to grab them with. On some old engines you may even find more than one ! Refit new ones with the domed part uppermost, they can be the course of sounds like a big end has gone and plenty smoke if injectors are not...

You did remove the old sealing washers for the injectors and replace with new didn't you ? Correct way up of course. Does sound retarded though, remember to slacken the injector pipes when advancing the pump. What pressure did you set injectors at ? Should be 130 to 135 bar.

I would start with the simple thing and make sure there is oil in the relay. Next up I would be checking the preload on the swivels.
