Which Fault did your Range Rover Throw at you Today?

Apart from one blown heater hose (owner's fault) and one gearbox problem that's what mine has been doing for the last five years.

    The LZIR Map

Just don't tell him that you own a restaurant - that man has an appetite:eek:

    Custom reg no.

Doesn't make a blind bit of difference as the number becomes part of the car once DVLA do their bit. You can then sell or transfer the vehicle with your personal plate as you would with any other number. The number isn't 'yours' it belongs to that vehicle. If you want to change vehicles but...

    losing power and slugish

Have you had a look at the pipework around the turbo? If it isn't adding it's oomph to proceedings these engines can be positively pedestrian.

Which Fault did your Range Rover Throw at you Today?

None It started, drove me where I wanted to go and back home again. Isn't this what they're supposed to do?

Could tell you but I'd hate to step on Datatek's toes. Didn't he say that he was going on a canal cruise? Ah well :D

    Battery Problem?

The RF unit is the prime culprit, it can be affected by many modern radio devices, even as simple as a wireless doorbell and it then can cycle the door locks or just keep the BECM awake. However, if you've got headlamp wipers, it has been reported that one of these not parking correctly can...

Range Rover p38 4.6lt gearbox issues

You might want to get yourself into the Range Rover section where you might find more knowledge about your box. I'm assuming that you're going into D whilst the engine is on tickover so the throttle stiffness shouldn't have any effect. A sticking valve might delay the change but shouldn't give...

Can I have my P38 RR (automatic) TOWED

Yup, four years later and the same questions keep coming up. Congratulations on using the search rather than just sticking a new thread up.

    Another Classic being brought back

That's the car, and in that colour, that made me want a Range Rover. It is magnificent. If it's ever up for sale I'll join the bidding.

    Range Rover respray

I got tired of trying to keep my handles looking good so fitted a set of color coded covers for them. I doubt that many people will ever spot them but I think it makes the car look a lot smarter - when it's clean. Mind you I've got colour coded bumpers, rad grill and mirrors.

    EAS anomoly

As Wammers has said it's much more likely to be your ABS pump. If that's operating every time you press the brake pedal then your accumulator is about as much good as a lace durex.

    In the dark.

I'd be having a look at the driver's door lock and the microswitches inside. If that all looks good then I'd move on to the wiring from the door into the wing.

Removing wood sections in the car..

About the same advice for all of them. Get behind them and look / feel for fittings. Some have those nasty single use gripping washers. Once you're happy that you've cleared any of them push the fittings out whilst GENTLY levering from the front. More push than pull and you should get away...
