    6 bolt & 4 bolt steering boxes

Thanks guys. Assume it bolts to the chassis directly without having to drill new holes?

    6 bolt & 4 bolt steering boxes

The drop link ball joint on my 92 Defender has failed as the rubber gaiter has split. I decided to get a new drop link as well as the ball joint replacement kit just in case I end up having to cut the old drop link off. BUT..... mine has a 6 bolt steering box instead of the 4 bolt and the drop...

    RRS rear spoiler issue

I seem to remember on my L322 Rangie that real spoiler had to be removed to change wiper blade? Could be it’s just not been put back properly. Easy enough job and probably very similar on the Sport

    ignition timing series 3

To be honest I did mine by trial and error. I've got a Series 3 Lightweight wit ha 2.25 5 bearing crank engine and fitted an electronic distributor. I just adjusted it by ear until I got a smooth tickover then took it f or a couple of runs to make sure it wasn't pinking and it was pulling OK.

Series 3 How best to secure & immobilise a Series 3 petrol?

I've a got a Series 3 lightweight with overdrive. I just leave the overdrive, low/ high ratio and gearbox all in neutral. It'll confuse your average thief.

    "Randy" 109 station wagon

We had a Y reg one at work. I loved it but pulling a 4 wheel trailer loaded up with gear with the 2.25 diesel was no fun even with overdrive and freewheel hubs. Sold it to lady who worked for us in the office as she had a farm. She died a few years ago and the old 109 was last heard of residing...

    Defender 110 Side Window Solution

Why not put new felts in the windows to stop them rattling? Check out Britannia Restorations on Youtube. I did mine a few weeks ago and only thing Idid differently was to soak the felt seals and Iron them into a V shape t omake them easier to fit.

    Larger intercooler

Just to add that the vehicle has just been completely rebuilt and the original intercooler was cleaned inside and outside. The guide pin in the injection pump had already been turned by 180 degrees so it was probably over-fuelling slightly with the stock intercooler. I've noticed a real...

    Larger intercooler

I have no affiliation with them but Allisport now do an intercooler for the 200 tdi engine with 40% increase in surface area that'll fit as a direct replacement to the orignal unit. Mine had been cleaned out after the Defenders rebuild but after 27 years was getting a bit past its best so bit...

    My 92' Defender rebuild

Finally got round to buying snd fitting complete new set of seats from Exmoor trim. The 2nd row and load space seating utilises the existing frames but the two front seats are completely new. Much more practical for me as they're now wipe clean

    Rear Quarter chassis

Yep. Just look at this. Top rails and spring mounts virtually dust on my old chassis removed last year. You can't really see the top chassis rails to see how bad they are.

    My 92' Defender rebuild

Update: all little electrical gremlins sorted. Heater now working better than ever as the control cables needed rerouting and adjusting. New seats on order from Exmoor trim and now considering Masai panoramic glass. Although we managed to get the rear washer pump working and live to the motor...

    My 92' Defender rebuild

Its back on the road! Few teething problems to sort out but only to be expected after a major rebuild like this. Heater not giving out heat but looks like the control cables need rerouting and adjusting. Can't get the rear window de-mister or wash / wipe to work and currently much scratching of...

    lightweight

Great little runabouts. Got a 2.25 petrol Series 3 1976. Fuel economy crap but no road tax and low insurance. Good fun in summer with the canvas rolled up / off. Diesels are either conversions or Dutch army imports as all their Lightweights were diesel. Many have been butchered so if you're...

    My 92' Defender rebuild

Drivers side door has proved a pain in the a*se to line up properly until we realised the B post had twisted during galvanising. Using a hydraulic ram sorted it out and all doors probably fit better than they did when it left the factory in 1992! The old bulkhead had the whole top section...
