    T4 Testbook & cables?

There is no point in trying to update it,all those cars run fine, petrol or diesel on the software they came out with. The only software update that was ever really needed was on the EAS to give the compressor an easier life on the 02-06 L322's.

TDV8 - stalled, 2xnew turbo fitted, engine siezed immediately in garage, my bad luck apparantly

This is a sad story, but from a practical point of view would the OP have been willing to pay the cost of a replacement on recon engine and turbo's in the first place - had it been correctly diagnosed ? Seeing as it came in as a non runner they would have been unable to carry out an oil pressure...

Disco 2 V8, Failed Emissions, Please Help!

The LPG ecu only piggybacks the output from the petrol ecu,so if the long term adaptions of the petrol ecu are miles out, then so will the LPG ones. If the trims are too far out it won't be possible for the oxygen sensors to switch properly anyway, the whole thing needs to be monitored by someone...

Disco 2 V8, Failed Emissions, Please Help!

Actually the fuel trims should have been reset when the new engine was fitted, plus a check of all the sensor readings to check its running closed loop and the fuel trims are in the parish. It could be as simple as partial misfires caused by failing plug leads, often not easy to detect on a smooth...

Disco 2 TD5 Auto, reversing lamps not working

OK the red and blue wires are the two that tell the BCU, PDC ecu,(If fitted) and power the reversing lamps. In the picture the angled probe shows the contact which causes the problem, its always the wiper contact that touches that one that is most damaged. As you can see the contacts are in two...

Disco 2 TD5 Auto, reversing lamps not working

No, not as an alternative, just an upgrade to take the load off the WXYZ switch contacts. 42w may not be much, but I have a box of over 20 of these, all with burnt out reverse switch contacts, and they are not all the ones I have done. Those switches are expensive as I'm sure you know,so for very...

Disco 2 TD5 Auto, reversing lamps not working

For the cost of a small relay and a fuse/holder, I think the 1/2 hour spent in wiring in a relay so the reverse lamps work normally is well spent. Taking the current load off the WXYZ switch will help to prolong the life of a very expensive part that has not been uprated to cope with the work it...

Take the non ACE idler pulley and the correct belt,no while you are at it just remove the ACE fully - then it can't stop you on the side of the road.

Disco 2 TD5 Auto, reversing lamps not working

While you are in there looking at the wiring diagram, wire in a small relay to drive the reversing lamps.Doing that will take the current load off the WXYZ switch and give it a fighting chance of lasting a while...

Disco 2 TD5 Auto - Diagnostic Systems - Views on which one to buy very welcome!

I bought a Nanocom about a year ago, just for its ability to recode secondhand keys. I've not tried to update it at all, just used it on almost a daily basis as it will do the TD5 engine on Defenders too. darn good tool,is earning me money, the only thing I think I use Testbook for is programming...

    Autobox adaptive reset

Well,I can only say I have seen loads over the years that will overboost and kangaroo - probably into the hundreds after all the TD5 years. Most of them will do it if you drive them hard enough,my own DII auto with Alive map will do it every time I gun it. Its because I rarely drive it and the...

    Autobox adaptive reset

The kangarooing sounds more like overboost than the box shifting up and down. Use your Nanocom to make sure the boost pressure stays under 230Kpa under full throttle / load conditions. If it goes over 230 the engine ecu will cut fuelling to avoid engine damage. As the fuel is shut down the boost...

    Change hand brake module

No idea, Snap On have really upped their game with LR stuff, I have an old Modis with 2012 software, which is good. But I also have SDD so I tend to use that for more in depth jobs such as coding and calibration. You would need to hook it up and see if the Solis shows it under "Special Functions"...
