I think you have misunderstood how electricity works. The current which flows in the circuit will be dependant on the load and the voltage. The load will only draw as much current as it needs, the socket does not push a specified current through something. You may be better off learning a bit...

Halfords do a Sony plug to ISO adaptor which would still need you to attach an ISO to the defenders wiring but save you having to butcher the new radio. Don't forget you may need an aerial adaptor aswell, worth checking before you go shopping.

So you've plugged a whacking great welder into a thirteen amp socket on a ring main without any thought for what power your welder needs or what type of supply you need? Ring mains and thirteen amp socket just weren't designed for that kind of use, get it hard wired or a ceeform type socket put...

If the circuit breaker is dropping out regularly then you've overloaded the circuit.

That wouldn't work, the power available wont change as you step the voltage up. You'll loose a little bit of available power through the losses in the transformer. And generally the power required will be greater at a higher voltage.

It's going to need a big single phase supply. The plate in your pic has it down as 125amp at 220volt which is a bit much when a domestic/small commercial supply is rarely more than 100amp and quite often 60/80amp

If its the non edc version then the plug with the three (I think?) wires is part of the awful egr system and not involved in the normal running of the engine.
