Hi chaps, do I have to press the lock button on the fob twice to arm the immobiliser or just once?

I call, once again, on everyone's good advice. I have a Freelander 1 XeDi 2000 reg. The lights in front of the sunroof are not working properly. When I lock/open the car with the fob they do come on and turn off in a nice progressive way, but when I try to press the button to turn them on...

Can it be sucked out using a suction pump tool, thingie? I know, stop with all technical lingo already!lol :mil80:

So I checked the Haynes manual today and it doesn't describe draining and refilling the rear diff oil? joe27979 mentioned I don't have a drain plug, is this correct? Stefan

Chaps, Replacing Gearbox, IRD and Rear Diff oils soon. Any tips? I'm planning on getting a level and getting the front of the car on axle stands and using a trolley jack for the rear of the car, then once I'm satisfied it's level I'll drain them and top up level with the screw holes...

Ahh dirty. There isn't an oil leak touch wood!! I just did some servicing and have moe to do, but it's going to the garage for the timing belts, so I can cut labour costs by leaving it off, plus I can finish my oil changes.

I was wondering if I can drive my Freelander without the undertray. It's to go in the garage and I thought save them doing it I'll leave it off and then I can do the oils after they've done with it as well? Stefan

Just had mine off this morning. There's a good diagram on page 1 of this thread. For my XeDi 2000 reg, there was two screws in front bumper, two 10mm bolts at the back on 4 sets of two 13mm bolts. 4 at the front by the bumper screws and 2 on each side. Good Luck.
