I've had it since Feb but only used it for that month till the mot ran out but was on the bump stops mainly and wasn't nice.
It needs an exhaust well the flexi, an abs module, maybe sensors to get the brakes and tc lights off and working right. Also the srs light off but apart from that nothing...
I only know that when he got it he fixed and replaced quite a few things, and he knows or knew who he got it from. I'm not saying he knows it from new but probably not far from it.
He did say though he was fed up fixing this and that, yes it's lovely to drive but he he's "had it" and went back...
No I haven't decided the P38 is going yes you did read wrong, I'm simply having my options open that's all. The only and main reason I'm thinking about it as I said is because it's the guy I've used for a few years and he knew the owner. He got it cheaper than normal because it needed wear and...
While yes you could be right but what I found out is that mine was written off 11 years ago, not bad enough to show on the log book but it's on the mot history for tailgate, back pass door and front pass pillar damage as dangerous.
It obviously got fixed as the owners since didn't bother or...
Fair enough but now through a friend I've been offered an 03 X5 3.0d auto, again seemingly needs nothing the family are just upgrading to a newer one.
Still money pits though, having said that that's what the guy selling the l322 went back to, not sure what year yet though.
So in other words, more modern looking despite only 2 years, more luxurious, parts higher, auto box not as hardy/ durable, dodgy electrics even worse than a P38
Well, there's a few on the road where I am but no P38's
It's an 02 mine's an 01 P38, mine needs the exhaust flexi but a bugger to fit, needs the ecu for the abs and maybe for the srs, now.
The mech I use has an 02 3.0 tdi auto he's selling he's did a lot of ie brakes, tyres among other stuff but said it's not running right but one he gets it right...
Ok, they guy that tested it said put a flexi link pipe in, now I normally would but literally just after the flexi itself, both ends bend therefore not sure of there was enough space to get the clamp on.
Put the old scrapper (00 p38 2.5 diesel) in for the mot earlier and failed on a blow at this, phone 2 local factors, they don't do them. Found then the bay but most don't have the flexi, just the cat with straight pipe, do I need it?
I might get one from the bay and no 37cm isn't high enough from the ground.
I think I'd be embarrassed to get AA or rac out for that, never had to do it and don't intend to.
For a p38 as there wasn't one when I got it, somebody is selling one that has a max lift of 37cm but I don't think it'll be high enough..... what size do I need.
