My 300tdi manual did this if you went into reverse and then forward.Greased the prop shafts and it vanished :D

Good grief,quite a selection-I thing the seal on the front cover is just a kind of dust seal

Anyone know the part No of the seal on the 300tdi outer timing belt cover where the crankshaft goes through-cant find it anywhere:rolleyes: and am about to pull it apart:D

Cheers guys I will take a look at the hoses ie get someone to push the pedal and see if there is any give in them As a matter of interest the Disco was sitting outside the PO mums house for over 2 years :eek: The colour of the brake fluid was interesting to say the least:)

Good point Biglad Did all 4 on my 300tdi plus new clamps. Hardest part was getting the old ones off :eek: big vice and bigger stilsons Dont forget to get the tracking done after you change them:D

Also remember to torque up the bolts as per the manual-dont leave it to chance with brakes:D

Mr Noisy can I pick your brain (and hijack the thread a bit):D When I changed the calipers all of the old fluid was removed.I noticed some black slimey goo in the master cylinder resevoir and cleaned it out.Filled with new fluid and bled the system but peddle is not as solid as I hoped:eek: Do...

According to the manual its 15W40 suitable from -10C to + 50C so should be fine:D

Good point noisy On mine you have to remove the brake pipe (single pipe on these calipers) to get at the pin bolts

Just finished the rear disks and all calipers on 1995 300tdi manual I agree with Mr noise plenty of hitting to get the disks off the hubs:eek: Also sit the hub in one of the removed wheels flat on the ground to undo and do up the disk bolts (but you knew that) Dont forget to use threadlock on...

Hi heggars I suppose it depends on the angle you put the pump in at when fitting it before you put in the bolts if you see what I mean :)
