Hi Pauli

Yeah the sludge in the reservoir was definitely worth getting out

Tbh mate the only way to get a proper solid pedal is to fit braided lines - they are a must for a competent braking system!

As long as it is bled up properly it's as good as you're gonna get it on rubber lines probably. You often get a spongy pedal before new pads have bedded in.

On a vented disc note, they're nice but no good for off road cos they just clog up.

Cheers.

I wouldn't say the are "a must", if they were all new cars would be fitted with them. They are just as good as brand new genuine rubber hoses and no better.
I have the fitted them to another car I own and I found no difference at all perhaps thats because the existing hoses that they replaced were 100%, but they look nice. :)

Cheers guys
I will take a look at the hoses ie get someone to push the pedal and see if there is any give in them
As a matter of interest the Disco was sitting outside the PO mums house for over 2 years
The colour of the brake fluid was interesting to say the least:)

Braided hoses aren't fitted out of the factory because for most people most of the time, they don't need them.

However, any performance or competition vehicle will have them fitted.

For the small cost, they are well worth the improvement. Particularly on a 200 with 5 lines, the amount of give in the rubber is ridiculous.

I can actually use my brakes strategically off road now, whereas before it was just kinda pedal in/pedal out amdni didn't really know what was happening at the wheels.

They are far better than brand new rubber hoses, or else they wouldn't be invented!

Cheers.

I'm into performance thats why I fitted them, but didn't find any improvement.. Why was braided fuel hose invented? I have that also and it doesn't do a thing for me. :)
"They are far better than brand new rubber hoses, or else they wouldn't be invented" I have a new Honda Accord I better get the brake hoses changed then, more expence :)

Braided fuel hose, i guess that was invented to be less susceptible to bursting in high pressure fuel systems and also great protection against exterior damage. With respect, the fuel hose (i assume in your Disco) probably isn't necessary, but in a race car running higher pressure i guess it would be a good idea.

And i bet braided lines would make an improvement to your Accord!

I fitted them to my CTR and it was like a different braking system. Race pads, braided lines and a good fluid were more than enough to get the car suitable for track use at it's power level. When i removed the lines the lack of modulation and pedal feel was somewhat unnerving!

ANYWAY, i'm keen on them. Everyone else can make their choice! :D

Cheers!
