No they are an "interference" type engine meaning theres no clearance between piston/valves if the cambelt goes... and then you cry...hence the importance of changing it.. Theres are few that are "Clearance" engines these days most have small tolerances to squeeze the most out of engine...

The bracket is on the gear box they have been known to break, leaving you with no clutch :( Methos.

Thats exactly what I'm getting, there are cobbled corners on the way to work through town that it shows up on most, the drivers side is quiet until something works the suspension hard like the cobbles, I thought I had a broken spring at first or a worn spring mount moving but the links defiantly...

I'm gonna need a couple of these done soon, drivers side is getting quite noisy now, they are half the price on GCE's ebay shop than my local Partco, and about a bank loan's difference from the main LR dealer :eek: Also needing both bearings for the VCU front one isn't too bad buct the back...

Never used Ashcroft, but Island 4x4 have always been very fast, helpful and reliable the several times I've used them if thats of any help. Paddocks are another good one but there VCU is a lot more expensive than Island Or theres a VCU here if your an flebay fan.. Link &#163;215 Methos.

Its the viscous damper, it tears away from if housing and spins around the shaft exactly as he described... Linky

I gave the whole system a flush out this morning refilled and bled it again, still the same meh heat as before, water is flowing nicely so don't think its an air lock etc, but that its just as you said and the heaters are crap, ours is a 2000 Xdi 20TD Guess its gloves and thermal socks instead :)

Ok got the pipe and and made up the stoppers/bungs today, all fitted, bled etc... heater effect...a bit meh at best really.... Do you think maybe theres something up with my matrix, or is it just a hippo has crappy heating period... On me Golf, and most other cars I've owned/driven you could...
