    Water

Yeah, I had this problem but its now fixed. Got home one night and backed the Freelander into the garage and noticed that it steaming away like a steam engine through the bonnet. Just get a replacement coolant cap as they have a little safety release valve which releases the pressure / heat...

Coolant - Where did it all go???

Righty, I almost forgot to reply here but it seem I have fixed the problem. What happened was due to wear and tear...the 'safety overheat release valve' in the cap of the coolant was stuck into the open position so that when the engine started to cook, all of the coolant mixture inside the...

    Remote Fob and key

Yeah, I got the same problem here. I only got one set of keys for my Freelander but apparently if you get the keys copied with the standard car keys (ones without the Code Thingy bit in the key), you'll be able to unlock the doors but you won't be able to drive your Freelander. And plus...I'm...

Coolant - Where did it all go???

Righty, I have a 2001 Freelander with a 1.8 litre engine. Interesting that you should mention about the Head Gasket because I think had that replaced last year in September.

    Freelander Faults poll

Superlocking Alarm System Clutch (you really need to poke the clutch down to get into reverse!) And that is just about all that went wrong with my Freelander (not bad huh?)!

Coolant - Where did it all go???

Hey Guys and Gals, I have a really weird problem here... Last Week, I checked the engine oil (over half full), coolant (over half full) and the power steering (full as usual) and this morning I checked again...the coolant is completely dry! I checked under the Freelander and I did not find...

Also I'll give the car battery a charge tomorrow.

Yes, the Freelander stills starts fine...but I have noticed it is starting to get weaker at starting. I'll try to book another visit to garage but this might not be any moment now.

ianda, I've managed to unplug the bonnet switch completely but the problem still persists. I even held down on the bonnet switch and yet still whines. But thanks for the idea.

    Car Alarm

Right now, I'm nearly convinced that my problem is the battery power because every time I unlock my Freelander, I have to press the unlock button on my remote at least 3 times to fully unlock the passenger side door. But anyone who wants to prove this wrong, I'm all ears (and eyes apparently!).

    Car Alarm

One question before I disappear on the face of earth again... how long do I need to charge the car battery for (since I'm no car pro)??? The car battery I got is the same as described in the manual (with the colour indicator). It is currently on black now.

    Car Alarm

Hey SpeedyVeg, I can't say for sure but after charging the car battery, it seemed to be quiet for a couple of days before it problem started all over again. But the thing is...I didn't charge the car battery for long though (left it charging for about 6 hours) because I had to use my Freelander...

    1.8 Petrol

Yeah, I had mine for nearly a year now and still runs like a beauty! The only trouble I had with my Freelander (not Gaylander to some of you freaks!) is when the Manifold cracked when I accidentally drove my Freelander 'a bit too fast' over a sharp road hump outside the Newport University!

    Car Alarm

Okay, I'll that a try but it has been quiet ever since I have charged the car battery up!

    Tape Player

Hey guys, some of you might know me in the Freelander section but apparently, my mum has a Range Rover and I'm wondering how easy it it to remove the Tape Player and fit a CD Player (Not one from Land Rover though!) in it. Reason I ask is that the tape player's front panel is sort of customized...

Yes, I apparently use the Air Conditioning on all the time, sometimes I don't even realize its even on!

    Car Alarm

No I haven't noticed if it goes off when a car goes by my Freelander because I sadly, I rarely park my Freelander next to the road.

    Car Alarm

Okay, I'm no pro at this but should bonnet switch should stay absolutely still or is it allowable for the bonnet switch to move about slightly in its bracket?

    Car Alarm

To Answer Optimus Prime's Question, I have check all lose items in the car and I have even removed some of the lose items (i.e. TOMTOM Charger, Air Freshener, etc) and still the alarm went off about 10 minutes later. Oh by the way, I can't find the sensor inside my Freelander that will detect...

    Car Alarm

To Answer Willo's Question, no, it doesn't matter where I park the Freelander (I even parked it in a car pack which is close to the Police Station!) and it will still go off. By the way, I'm going to charge the battery today as I didn't have time to do it yesterday.
