once a rad is hot and under pressure when you remove the cap it will **** out bloody hot. if yours is not doin so then yes check stat is not jammed shut and your water pump is working correctly. it been known for the finns inside the water pump to break of or flak of and not pump quicker enough...

if you dont know how to test the stat, hang it over the kettle with piece of string {dont stick it in water} boil kettle and watch for stat to open before the kettle has boiled. stats open at around 90degress will say so on top of stat.

sounds like the battery has gone dead, try the coat hanger technic down the door to the latch, once opended recharge the battery. or even better get the rac or aa out.

whilst you flush the rad leave the top hose connected to the engine and remove the thermostat and reverse flush the engine with hose as well. if the water ways are blocked it clear them as well. it all worth doin to try a nd elimanate the problem. and buy the way does the viscous fan work correctly?

you need to sort the airbags out first. and yes a auto is brill for towing, you get more torque than a manual

yes a blocked rad will cook the engine in no time, as for compression test any local mot garage will have the tool to do the job. 30min top

your rad may be blocked. suggest you disconnect top and bottom hoses and run hose pipe through. also i would get compression test done to see if the gasket has gone.

id start by seeing if you got a live at the switch when its on

you may need new batterys for the remote. i would buy ova haul kit it about £10 you get new battery and seal and new cover for battery. in the mean time only use the key or you may get locked out if you accdentaly double lock it.i may be right or wrong but that what i would do.

sounds like your becm is bein kept awake by something. usually a mobile phone mast or somebodys car alarm or similar. do you notice any new cars next door or ariels or satellite dishs gone up etc?

yes get it plugged in to reset the hevac and dont park near the substation as you gussed right it will keep the becm awake. there a place in tongham that does the plug ins for you.
