sounds like your becm is bein kept awake by something. usually a mobile phone mast or somebodys car alarm or similar. do you notice any new cars next door or ariels or satellite dishs gone up etc?

gerra skoda-wont break nearly as much and is made by the bods who make the veyron.

Sounds like the reciever problem, do a search you'll find loads of threads on the subject.

The Becm is staying 'awake' due to spurios radio signals, car alarms, wifi, etc and drawing excess current from the battery.

My wifes got an octavia tdi and its done 180k with next to nothing needing done. Fokin brill so it is, and I used to take it into the forest to collect wood before I got the disco, apart from ripping the sump cover off on rocks it did a job for me.

although my rangey is a little older i had the exact same problem recently

have replaced the battery and removed the aeriel connection from the central locking remote receiver and its been fine since ..

i did think they has this sorted by 2002 model though as there was an update on the receiver circuit board

but the same theory may apply, only takes a few minutes and its worth a try

I don't think the update ever made it to production vehicles. Try as nik says and disconnect the ariel from the reciever to start with. If this helps then you need to splash out for a new unit, unfortunately big bucks LR only.

thanks for the info on problem on battery keep draining. did not lock rangey next morning started first go. locked it last night started ok again, seems to be very intermittant? if unit gone what sort of price am i looking at. can they be mended?

all i did on mine was remove the aeriel so it stopped waking up the becm but if you want to replace the receiver they are about 150 notes ...
