    TD4 clutch pedal fault

Could be a faulty master cylinder but the slaves are known for packing up as well, is it losing fluid? have a look and see if fluid is leaking out from the bellhousing.

    Will Cooking Oil Work...bio

Cooking oil needs to be heated before it enters the pumps as it will overload the pump if its cold, so yes you will **** it up by just pouring it in the tank.

Freelander TD4 2003 removing the heater Matrix

Yes, dash needs to come out, no other way of doing it. It's not as bad as it sounds though.

Fuel and ignition but still won't start...

Does seem strange that they are wired like that but lookin at it, I can see that the injectors have a power feed on the brown wire and they are switched by the 2 yellow wires which are earths, why they are wired in parallel is beyond me but there must have been a reason why they did it this way...

    2007 - Defender 90

Pesonally I wouldn't bother with the 2007, get a Td5. The transit engine in the 2007 is a good torquey engine but the gearbox is ****, poor selection, prone to failing and not man enough for tough off roading (they go wrong on road!!!), I'm not keen on the interior either, looks better but no...

    Which Fuel Pump?

I think you're right (not just 01 but all), we've done loads of pumps over the past weeks, I think it might be the cold weather, the deisel goes a bit thicker in the cold and this puts extra load on the pump.

    Which Fuel Pump?

looks to me like none of them have been replaced. if the one in the take was new, the white part on the top would be clean and new as the pump comes complete with the sender and the top bit. The only other air flow meter from land rover that will fit the td4 is a sensor from a disco2 V8, the...

Td4 Auto Sometimes Will, Sometimes Wont!!!

9 times out of 10 this fault is caused by low primary fuel pressure, either the fuel pump under the wheel arch is fooked or one or more of the injectors are leaking back. Low side fuel pressure should be about 350kpa, any lower and it wont start (dunno what that is in psi) also if the fuel...

Im an idiot, just put some petrol in the TD4 tan

No it won't and if the dealer in question followed the bulliten, they shouldn't have told him that. That wasn't my point though, my point was that nearly everyone doesn't believe us when we say it can cause serious damage, they just walk off calling us ****ers and say "well my old 300tdi was...

Im an idiot, just put some petrol in the TD4 tan

This is where you lot think us dealers are taking the **** and having one over on the customer. Sure, a small amount of petrol wont do it any harm if its diluted enough, but fill it up with petrol and drive it till it stops will **** it big time. I've seen an L322 range rover with a...

Faulty transfer box / ecu ?

Quite possibly an ecu fault, the norm for these though, is they will go into low but won't come back out. I would definately check the motor as they are prone to failing because they don't get used enough, its only a glorified defender wiper motor anyway! You can fit a second hand ecu as...

    Auto Box Shift TD5 2004

It could be a couple of things, either its overboosting or an air flow meter fault. If its an air flow meter fault then it won't reach maximum revs and the car will surge, sort of feels like its changing up and down gears all the time (only at full throttle) If its overboosting, it will...

Fuel and ignition but still won't start...

Going by your description, (I'll need to check though) The relay is the engine management relay and powers the ecu and other electrical stuff for the engine management. The injectors all have a live feed to them and the ecu switches the earth, no two injectors will be open at the same time. the...
