    For Sale L322 Wheels - Set of 4, 20"

These 20" wheels were on my P38 when I bought it, and have been taking up space in my garage for years since I took them off. Open to offers, will be going on eBay once I get round to taking some decent pics. Located in Staffordshire. I can throw in a set of wheel nuts and spigot rings if you...

    P38A Colour coding door handles

I've always assumed the colour coded covers would look like a bit of naff plastic stuck to the door handles using double-sided tape.... could be wrong though, anyone got experience of these? Also, covers are overpriced imo

    P38A Colour coding door handles

I've had a can of plasti-kote satin black lying around which I bought ages ago for my P38 door handles, but started thinking about just spraying them java black instead. Has anyone done this? I was planning to rub the stripe detail flat, then plastic primer, regular primer, colour and clear...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Took off both bonnet latches, put in parts washer to dissolve 17 years of grime, moved to ultrasonic cleaner to remove parts washer solvent. Small dab of silicon grease, and re-fitted looking like new. Got rid of the "bonnet open" warning which was driving me nuts.

    P38A Still in Russia

Wow, you really are doing the grand tour! Last time I was in Samara was December - there were 8 inches of snow overnight, and was about minus 15. We get proper seasons in Russia. Couple of things worth seeing while you're in town are Stalin's bunker and the Cosmos museum. Not many outsiders...

    P38A In Russia Now

Sounds like fun... most of my Russian friends have never been that far East!. You should be sure of a warm welcome. Last time I was over the other side of the Urals, people couldn't have been friendlier and showed me everything from empty shortbread tins to pictures or our Royal Family and even...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Rangey has been feeling a bit un-loved recently, since being forced in to early retirement due to the recent arrival of a young EU immigrant, so took advantage of the good weather to give a good clean over the weekend. Took the old tint of the rear passenger windows, which was not my idea of...

    P38A Brake pedal / modulator

I have one of these kits, but never got round to fitting it yet. Don't recall any instructions coming with it - just a load of o-rings and the modified stainless steel washers. I think he called them a "BBS Kit". Can dig out the guys details if you're interested. One of these jobs I'll get...

    Evoke, I don't think I'll bother.

Cars are expensive, that's why I tend to look after mine... for example by not having anything knocking around loose which might cause damage, and would certainly be a distraction when driving. Especially relevant for wimmins who rag it round corners fast enough to send a book sideways with...

    Disco 2 Height Sensors

I replaced one of mine on my P38 with a Britpart sensor about 5 years ago and never had any issues, although I think the D2 sensors are shared with the L322 and not the P38.

    pass plus

Depends on how you assess the cost/benefit analysis. Avoiding an accident altogether, or being involved in a less serious one as a result of better awareness is the main benefit - not just a reduction in insurance policies. When I was 22 I had to drive a new Sprinter round London for work, and...

    Other reliability

Loads of P38s and D2s around my way. I think it's more a case of most of the answers already being available if you do a quick search.

    What's the best penetrating fluid?

I use Plus Gas, but seen a load of YouTube videos which swear by a 50/50 mix of Acetone and ATF. Decided I will give it a try next time to see how it compares.

    P38A Stubborn ABS Sensor

Indeed, that's pretty much how I got it out in the end... die grinder, small punch, long nosed pliers, and pair of tweezers to get the last of the copper bush out. Was pretty solid in there. Didn't even get round to the back one yesterday so hope it's not as bad, but as usual with these things...

    P38A Stubborn ABS Sensor

Do you mean the outer bush, or the inner copper one? I've got both, but can't see any good reason to change the outer bush unless anyone can tell me otherwise. http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/sensor-bush-front-rear-ftc2249-p-2973.html...

    P38A Stubborn ABS Sensor

What better way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday? Despite a nightly dose of PlusGas for the past week, front ABS sensor just didn't want to play nice. Reckon I'm almost there with this one, hope I can get the last of it out without removing the hub. Need to replace one of the rears after this as...

    P38A Shock Absorber Top Bolt

Thank-you gents. I got side-tracked with a couple of pre-MOT jobs for family members, so hopefully get round to this in the next week or two.

    P38A Shock Absorber Top Bolt

Yep, it's the top bolt I wanted the size of, just so I can have a spare before I start. I had to move the Rangey back out to the driveway for now to make room in the garage for another car, otherwise I would have removed the shocks and checked for myself. It was the bottom stud which sheared as...

    P38A Shock Absorber Top Bolt

Does anyone have the part number or size of the top bolt for P38 shock absorbers? (1999 2.5 DSE) I was trying to change the bottom bushes, but sheared the stud when trying to get the nut off, despite wire-brushing and soaking in plus-gas overnight. Since I'm going to have to down tools until I...
