I got this one and it works great Sealey AK506 Brake Pipe Flaring & Cutting Tool Kit Set 10pc in Carry Case | eBay they are out of stock at the moment hence the price but it was £17.85 inc p&p.
Any car handbook will tell you not to get under a vehicle supported by a jack alone so unless the LR handbook says "Do not tow with this towbar" your analogy is flawed.
If the car is wearing an ID it's not entitled to it's a ringer. If it is entitled to it then an investigation by VOSA would establish that. Where's the problem with that?
So why use the older ID if it's all obtained legally?
No doubt some poor sod will buy it and find it's already been reported to VOSA or whatever they're called now.
Nobody's complaining about historic vehicle not paying tax, what they are complaining about is people using the ID on stolen later models.
It's the theft that winds most people up, not a piddling bit of tax.
Well I've now got a Dashcam and an SJ and I'm more than happy with both.
Great service. Thanks Fanny :)

MOT'd it, changed the rear brake pipes which were an advisory on it's last one (I've only owned it for a cpl of months) and NO advisories this time.
Result :)
TBH it's probably cooked now anyway :(
Prolly either the thermostat as has been said or a ****part water pump and the impeller is no longer fixed to the shaft.
The reason I went for a D1 was the fact that it didn't have loads of electronics which makes it a lot easier to work on. £2.5 - £3k for a Disco 1 seems a bit steep though. I've got two for less than that combined, one for parts :)
