+1 for gold. They rust rpthrough where the bolts are and make a din. Can be fixed by using large washers instead but to take them off completely you need to remove the whole wheel hub and brakes!

You can get to the 2 outer ones without removing the bumper, but for the 2 innies its easier to take it off. Be careful when removing the ends at the side as if stiff and reluctant to free itself from the retainer, it can split the bumper if too much force used! gently does it!

DMW, I would go straight to an L322. I have had 2 L322s after a 2.5 DHSE and they are so much better in many ways. PM me if you are interested as I am having to sell my fault-free TD6 due to going abroad to work.

could i suggest you get the breather checked/replaced as well. Not expensive and a known source of problems when left unchecked
