Swept the snow off, jacked it up to figure out which half shaft had gone, and narrowed it down to the rear.
Felt very silly when I realised the rear righ half shaft had simply crept outwards, so disengaged from the diff..
We are at 1500m, and the snow/rain line was at 1700ish most of the day. Got lower overnight, so woke up to this.
For reference, peaks opposite are 3000, ridge on the right climbs from 2000 to 3000.
Looks like it. Transfer box eventually engaged difflock, and I got some drive back, and managed to park it off the mud so I can figure out which shaft it is tomorrow.
I also ordered some replacement lights for the rear ones that lost when I fought the wall.
I've got a stinking cold, and it is parked up on mud as I couldn't get it into the garage, so ideal conditions to do anything. Couldn't get any drive with transfer box lever in any position...
Got towed off the ice by a Hilux.
I suspect I have a transfer box failure. I can select a gear, and speedo shows turns at the gearbox, but no power seems to be reaching the wheels.
I just bought a bottle of Laphroaig select. Either I've got covid, or it's bland and uninspired. Not the kick in the face with a peat covered boot that I'd expect from leapfrog at all!
Spent too long chasing a weird error on my fog lights. There is a problem in the wiring between the steering column and fuse box I can't understand.
So am giving up and fitting a clearly labelled bodge at the fuse box it so it passes the MOT equivalent... I never use fog lights anyway, no fog here!
I have:
Half a bottle of reasonable crement d'Alsace left
A selection of old movies
Rumbles of thunder that are not dropping any rain
No idea why my fog light is not working, which is a minor MOT equivalent fail
And an experiemental chocolate cake
Yup. Same here in France. Vehicles on ' collectors registration' are exempt from the emissions zones.... almost as if they're about money, not air quality.
15th of August is the feast of the assumption of Mary. Catholic coutries shut down...
My wife has just spotted a 1960s Alpine Sunbeam for sale locally ( first hand..) and some how has fewer objections to tha the Landie...
Fixed the front left indicator- and hopefully crimped the fitting tight enough it won't move again.
Found a way to prop up my phone so I could video the rear lights.... now to figure out why the reverse and fog lights are not working!
Pristine not an option... more like well used! And most of them have assorted lubricants and other fluids everywhere....
A bottle of DOT4 got a jack dropped on it and somewhat slightly exploded.
