Might be thinking of the sniper rifle L42A1 7.62 which replaced the No4Mk1(T) .303. I've owned 2 of the latter.

I wouldn't be suprised if there are 7.62 out there. They even did .22LR for cadets. .303 Eagle-enfield I always wanted, but your not allowed them nowadays :(
They did move to 7.62 when they changed to L4

Lee Enfield were .303 , and the FN was 7.62 when I was in Brian. Both good stopping power

That`s what i was lead to believe i was shooting at Bisley so not military issue, was getting to be very good till my eyes buggered up and had to stop.:(

No4 action was used as the base for a lot of other rifles in military calibres & a lot of others.
The L42A1 in 7.62 was the Army sniper rifle until replaced by the Accuracy International L96AI.

The Parker Hale T4 was a heavy barreled target rifle in 7.62. Used the later 7.62 magazine so still 10 round capacity(Had one of those too!)

The Enfield Envoy was another No4 based 7.62. (Very similar to the Enfield Enforcer used by some Police forces)

I am sorry this time mark :(:(

Understandably, I had to change the subject and knew this would work ;) Lee enfield is my 'now not so' secret forum weapon guaranteed to destroy anything in it's path in any calibre

@Dopey get well soon bud, or get your laptop out and join in the train wreck - it will make you feel better :D:)

Back to the thread - how is she running now after the popping incident?
As good as ever. The fan mod from datatek along with the 46cm fan i fitted is excellent. It runs from about 40 seconds at the moment and then cuts out. I'll wait for the height of summer to give a real report on how well it does for me. Hasn't missed a liner, sorry beat!!:D
