Can you put it back on after the test ? or do the rozzers check such things ? ( guessing they do  )

Wowzers, whats the actual issue with the bumper ? Non standard ? I thought TF was literally up to standard spec in most cases... would they really notice. Or is it just the winch element ?

How do folks get round this if their vehicle has equipment ie emergency services, logging etc is there no special category or is there a fee?

You are only allowed manufacturer fitted parts....so has to be fitted by LR...Camel Trophy pass my 101 passed with winch sticking out the front as the mod id plate in the cab says "fitted with winch"...traffic cops may fine you depending on who it is or even impound vehicle..this rule applys to anything home built/fitted including camper van conversions and trailers...

On a practical level, can't you just bolt on a standard bumper, and replace the other after the inspection?

Alternatively, you could just point out to him that he will probably use the winch once in a blue moon, but will pay for the fuel to carry it around all the time.
