Update: I replaced the driver's latch and there is now no mysterious window closing or flashing indicators happily, however the car still will not superlock and I get the 'key battery low' message daily, any suggestions greatly appreciated.

First suggestion is never superlock. It can leave you in a world of pain.
If you keep the FOB in your pocket, it may be the buttons are getting pressed. I used to get that message until I stopped keeping the FOB in my trouser pocket. Another piece of crap LR design, the buttons stand too proud.

+1 on the superlock. I think you must be fumbling in your pockets too much Keith

I see, I agree with the superlock thing, I only wanted to do it to find out whic key I have by doin the seat position trick but then it doesn't really matter anyway. Could it be that the fob is knackered as it is pretty beaten up, cheers.
