It shows what happens when you stop motorised transport using the lanes tho.

Had a dog walker thank one of our group the other week, apparently the lane only being 18" wide was making it difficult for them to walk through, so coming up to a group of Landies pushing their way through was a welcome sight.

Enjoy the lanes, the ones I have driven recently are overgrown and the leaves are covering some quite thick branch growth. Not paint friendly or even in places bodywork, and not places I would lead a shiny down.

Cheers

It not only affects us as 4x4 but horses, bikes & walkers.
Wilts council are good for removing blockages but not bush cutting(unless you complain)
I do say I’m using a horse carriages as they deem this to be more a pleasure than adventure

2 trips out over the bank holiday with a small groups.
1 loop around as far as Avebury stones
1 loop out towards marlbough.
Only the marlbough route had a bit of overgrowth where I was nice a asked if you wanted to avoid the gorse/sloe bushes. Most took the scratchy route.
Only saw 2 enduro bikes & 2 LR overlanders over the 2 days. Plenty of walkers.

I will be going lane hunting the bank holiday weekend unsure what day as I work away all week. These can be very scratchy to the paint work as the lanes have just opened & most are not used. Once I managed a loop I plan these out proper.

im always up for company and show people the sights. Most of the nice views are Swindon/marlbough

Perfect. I’m just outside Marlborough and shoot between Burbage and Pewsey so might know some of the lanes you mean!

gotta get the disco fixed first!

Done 60miles off road over the weekend taking a disco soft roading(did not want to scratch the paint)
Now the council have been busy putting scalpings down on a few tracks. They have filled the mud holes & ruts. This is section open all year round & is single track

carried on towards Avebury stones & off down another single track. Ruts are deep & I straddled these until I slid in. Then I was beached. So the disco I was with had the duties of laughing & recovery

But people forget if 1 gets beached so will others
Once again the rope of shame came out again.

Then walked further down the lane only to find a hole full of water. So left the rope attached and off we went.

Few more lanes on the way towards Barbary castle

then over the top towards marlbough.on route found a lane has been closed as the estate was sold & the permission to enter the property has ceased by the new land owner. I will find if the lane can be entered from another location.

Through a sheep field

Onto the ridgeway up to the closure & down another lane.last time I used this the gate was locked but now all is good

Forgot to say the day did not start well. Arranged meeting just outside hungerford so could go lane hunting. When I arrived he got out the disco as all was well.... until
I pointed at the flat tyre & laughed. So
Remove wheel off to hungerford & get a repair within 1.5hrs(piece of glass on entering lay by)
Due to the time used we missed a load of lanes round Kintbury.will save these for another day

hi @Hicap phill

looked a great day out

ref parts , is part number , DYC101420Can see yellow clips have been fitted

found a link for u

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371893137642?hash=item56968ef0ea:g:ppMAAOSw4YdYyTS~

There’s also a trick fitting them, remove all the clips from plastic moulding and door, they will break

clip the yellow parts together using pliers , put a ring spanner over the pointed part of the clip or small socket so u don’t damage the end of the clip , then fit them to the plastic moulding first , then simply push the moulding onto the door

hope that helps

ps, let me just find some clip tools that will help

Thanks @gstuart
He’s now on the case with the part numbers.

ur so welcome , plus forgot to say, when u get the new clips, try one in the door to ensure they fit perfectly , because there pattern parts , alas have to destroy them to get them out and some of the clips will drop inside the door

also see that’s a discovery 4 , there the same for D3 and D4

glad it helped
