Bought my 1999 diesel with 105 000 miles on it in 2010 now got 155000 on it and it was sorn for 1 year while i was in Australia.

Brought 97 dse man at 126k now 147k Second engine from new but same clutch 
first registered in nottingham then NI and now back in england.
Had a period with split rad shortly after purchase now has a snotty nose with leaking FIP.
In my ownership- full set of shocks, 5 oil changes. 6 discs, 6 pad sets, 2 drive belts, 1 battery, 3 pairs of wipers, 2 headlight bulbs, 2 number plate bulbs, 1 tyre, 1 intercooler, 2 air filters, 2 fuel filters, 1 radiator. All in 21k!
Still returning 28-32 mpgs and original paintwork you can eat your dinner off.

6 sets of brakes and only 1 tyre?

brakes - not fitted well first time on the front (crap on the hub even though dremel brushed, warped and juddered after 5k miles, and due to holding on the brake after use - learned my lesson now
tyres - Bridgestones HTs- still going strong must have been on for 10k miles at least before I brought it. Will need a new set in a couple of years. New tyre was for the NSF only due to roundabouts. For wear they're unbeatable although a little pricey to buy.

343,000.....but if you see the thread "DSE in Distress" you'll see not all is well. To be fair though it wasn't the engine's fault.
If anyone wants a list of what's likely to fail and when, I'm sure I have all the history available. As far as major components go, including the factory originals, it's on the 3rd gearbox, 2nd transfer box, 2nd set of air springs and 2nd front diff (the rear clonks really bad though). The air con recently failed with a seized compressor - I think it was already on its 2nd.

98 DSE on 208,000 miles with original engine. Just did a big service with the help of my mechanic acquaintance, changed engine oil, diff oil, auto box oil and filter, put in a used viscous coupling, new 1000ccc diesel spec battery, replaced injector leak-off pipes, new beru glow plugs, new inlet manifold gaskets, replaced 3 gaskets in fuel injection pump, re-calibrated the FIP, dropped the fuel tank and replaced in tank fuel pump. Now works great.
