Sorry but green as leaf with this stuff.
so i can use either OS maps or memory maps or are they the same thing.
If not which is best

I remember this being discussed, do a search for memory map on the forum and I'm sure you will find the answer..

you need a program to run/show the OS maps. memory map is that program.

thanks Griffdowg the mud is starting to clear.
Although Maplins just told me there dongle GPS wont work with memory map, i thought it was just a signal not a programe

strange. did you ask why not?

maybe they were thinking of the hand helds. MM produce a number of small and hand held units (I have an adventurer 2800). It should work, redhand uses it and I use a Garmin GPS10 so a 3rd party signal is not a problem
