fitted new track rod and drag link arm, cocked up lining up tracking though.
the saga continues....
oil leaking from injectors at head too,
FFS, i'm getting fed up with all this.
and the temperature dials don't light up in the dark anymore, that annoys me.

Took the tarp of for a a few mins during a lull in the rain - admired her - then covered her up again as the skies opened. Where's the sun???

took all the doors off and stripped all the glass, window regulators, central locking actuator etc etc. off them and put em to one side to be scrapped. along with the front wings and rear body panels.

fed it. got the hevac unit out and checked all connection  checked all fuses and relays. there's some odd **** that happens to my car when it's raining.

Found out my cylinder head IS cracked. I wouldn't mind so much but I had it pressure tested aswell as skimmed when I got it done. It seems the engineers missed the 2 cracks when they tested it.:mad::mad:

Anyone got a TD5 head going spare?

how much do yu wanna pay?

eek!

Tell me about it. I had the money at the ready for a new head when I got the HG done. Funnily enough as it came up clear when tested I have since used the money on other things. Now I find out he 'missed' 2 cracks in 2 different places. I gotta look into the legalities of it yet. Since I paid for the fault of overpressurisation to b rectified and NOT headgasket it may be down to the engineer to pay for the head as he has quoted a price and I have paid that price.

Thats what I'm trying to find out. The engineer who tested it did the entire job from start to finish. I was gonna do the HG myself but as the price for the engineering company to do it was only about £150 for he labour I decided that it would be better to let them do the whole job to prevent any warranty issues. Looks like it was a wise decision now.

The bit thats worrying me is the fact that they did 3 sniff tests and 3 compression tests that came up clear. They rekoned the headgasket was ok.

It was only the fact that I got fed up and told em to strip the engine cos I was fed up with the overpressurising. When they stripped the engine it was found that the head had been shifting on the nylon dowels and that the HG WAS gone. They then skimmed and pressure tested the head and re-fitted it.

Now suddenly the head is cracked TWICE and they missed both of em. I'm starting to wonder just how much knowledge engineering companies have.:(

not your prob mate, its their fault they didnt do all the correct tests associated with this type of problem.
