NOT BOTHERED.
they're prone to cracking the head so that the derv gets into the engine oil. As far as I can make out the fault on mine is unique.
oh well of to the testing shop then i suppose.

The engineering company who did the job last year have got it back under warranty. The heads off I just gotta wait to hear the results of testing.
ok,good luck with it.
Found out my cylinder head IS cracked. I wouldn't mind so much but I had it pressure tested aswell as skimmed when I got it done. It seems the engineers missed the 2 cracks when they tested it.
Anyone got a TD5 head going spare?
is there no come back on the place who tested it .
Thats what I'm trying to find out. The engineer who tested it did the entire job from start to finish. I was gonna do the HG myself but as the price for the engineering company to do it was only about £150 for he labour I decided that it would be better to let them do the whole job to prevent any warranty issues. Looks like it was a wise decision now.

good man ratty, looks like its down to them then,
The bit thats worrying me is the fact that they did 3 sniff tests and 3 compression tests that came up clear. They rekoned the headgasket was ok.
It was only the fact that I got fed up and told em to strip the engine cos I was fed up with the overpressurising. When they stripped the engine it was found that the head had been shifting on the nylon dowels and that the HG WAS gone. They then skimmed and pressure tested the head and re-fitted it.
Now suddenly the head is cracked TWICE and they missed both of em. I'm starting to wonder just how much knowledge engineering companies have.
hope ya get it all sorted soon mate
